Firefox using up too much resources...

...Recently its been slowing the PC down a lot.

In XP's task manager its using up to 300,000k at times!

Any ideas why? And how to fix it?



All fine on the checks...virus, ad-aware and spybot.
Latest Firefox 1.07, and XP installed about 3 weeks ago, probs started over the past few days.

I dont know if it would help, but you could try updateing to firefox 1.5beta RC2

It gets annoying when random things start using up random amounts of memory. What is it you do on FF to cause it, or does it just do it as soon as you load it up? You coudl always try uninstalling then re installing

Alot of people complain about this with the earlier versions. The new 1.5 RC1 and 2 releases aren't supposed to be as bad. I personally never have this problem, most it uses it maybe 50K.

The more tabs you have open, and the more intense the pages are you're loading, the more it will require. So if you'r loading videos or alot of images in 2-3 tabs, it's expected to run a bit higher.

It just gets bigger and bigger for no reason!
I don't even have to use it, it just grows!
