Firewall Software

Just out of curiosity and for wanting to try new things. I was wondering if there is a free program that I could run on a second computer that will act as a firewall for internet to the main computer? Like a middle man between the internet and my main computer.

I was hoping that it would be easy to use too.

Let me know.

I've considered doing something like that, but to be honest, you really still need a firewall on the computer. Firewalls like you're trying to setup are essentially like they are on the router. IE, they don't block programs. Programs on your PC could still access the internet over port 80, assuming you're leaving it open for some internet access :P

But if you still want to, any basic firewall program should be fine. As long as the port's being blocked on the way in, it shouldn't go out to the network/PC. I personally use ZoneAlarm or Windows 7 Firewall Control (works with Vista's/Windows 7's built in firewall)

Depending on your OS Online Armor has a very nice free version of their firewall and it even provides HIPS. They even have with their forum a board dedicated to OA Free users. Very helpful community.
