Firewire port via PCI??

If i get a mobo that doesnt have a firewire b port, can i buy one to insert into a PCI slot. And would i want this to be a PCI express slot, maybe PCI express x 16?

Also, what other things will i need to use PCI slots for?

To answer your question, yes. I have a PCI firewire card in my computer right now. You don't need to get PCI-e card, I'm not even sure if they sell them. Even if they did/do, it would be overkill because the PCI ones can capture full DV quality movies in real time.
Other uses for PCI would be installing extra USB ports, modems/ethernet adapters, or sometimes auxillary video cards (for things like projectors).

Ok, so im looking for a motherboard and it seems that a lot are basically the same except have different amounts of PCI slots; the more slots the more expensive. I dont really need many so should i look for a board with less?
