Firewire

i have a sony dcrtrv-25 minidv video camera, and i want to transfer video onto my computer. Using USB2.0 though, the frame rate is terrible and looks like garbage. If I use a firewire cable (I have yet to purchase one), would the frame rate go much faster than USB2.0, or is it not worth it?

MiniDV cameras are suppose to use firewire cables to transfer video to the computer. Also, make sure you have a firewire port on your computer, cause just the cable won't do anything.

I know the older digital camcorders only used USB 1.1 so the quality was rather poor(IE 352x240 @ ~30FPS) Firewire is a much, MUCH better alternative. Trust me, the difference in quality is well worth whatever the cable costs(and card if you need it)
