It will be used primarily for gaming (Crysis). Does it look good?

As for the videocard, when does the updated model of 8800GTS come out? I heard it is expected to perform better than the GT, is that true? What about ATI HD 3800, which is supposed to support DX10.1?

I didn't look it over thoroughly but a few things I noticed right away...

From what I've heard, the new 8800gts's will outperform the 8800gt, however they will probably be a lot more pricey as well (just something to think about).

Also, for the motherboard get one that supports PCI-e 2.0 (X38). It's not needed currently, but will be in the future.
(heres a few)

Good quality processor and motherboard. Hard drive choice also looks good. I have been using a Western Digital Hard Drive for over 4 years and had no issues with it.

I know nothing about G. Skill memory. It appears 91% of people like it who bought it from NewEgg.

As vonfeldt suggested, 8800gts ee (extreme edition) will be releasing soon but for ~$80.00USD more. The differences in performance isn't worth the extra $80.

Thanks for the replies.

As for the poster suggesting that I get a motherboard that supports PCI express 2.0, is that really necessary? I don't think you need that for the current graphics cards...do you?

Nah, i personally wouldn't fool with it. Unless i see benchmarks.. i doubt theres going to be a noticable difference

Disclaimer: my opinion

Also had another general question about cooling. Should I add another fan to the system? What do you all prefer\recommend?

Drop that CPU : http://www.clubit.com/product_detai...=OTC-Adwords&gclid=CPCMtsK_wI8CFSQYZAodnFYpXg

Drop that RAM and get - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145590

Much agreed. It's 80$ more for a processor thats nearly twice as powerful and much more future proof. And most people like corsair more too.

And don't worry about PCIe 2.0. It's more then likely not worth +150$.

Not true. PCIe 2.0 is around 2x the speeds of x16...

And it's not really +150$ or even close...

PCIe 2.0 just not needed for now

Decided to go with the Corsair memory, thanks.

Other opinions on the CPU? Should I go for Quad core or stay with the E6750?

agreed. were talking 15% more stream processors. and by the time they are released 8800 gt will be 220-240$
