Everything else i have from salvaged computers, except memory. For memory i would like it to be around 150 for 1gb as i just haven't got any opinions from friends about good manufacturers.

This computer will be mainly used for gaming;bf2, hl2, wow, with little misc taks thrown in. Any criticism/opinions are greatly appreciated to get me started on my first build.

BTW my budget is 1500
 
A processer depends on if your going to play games or not with it. Intel computers are not as good for gaming as much as AMD.
 
I'd also go with the AMD system, but what are you going to use it for? INTEL and AMD are generally slitghly better are differnt things.


EDIT: I'm a moron and cant read, you said what it was for. I would still go with AMD in your case.

I would go for 2 sticks of DDR400 512MB ram, or 2 sticks of 1GB if you want to go all out =P

I didn't know what you were planning for that, but i thought i would add it in.
