Hey all,

I'm switching over from a Mac to a desktop PC for a gaming/home computer. Here are the specs that I've looked into, but I'm trying to keep the price low. Any recommendations on upgrades, downgrades or alternatives?

I want to keep the Intel CPU and a nVidia graphics card. I am considering an SSD for ~60-120GB for software apps and operating system. The total cost is already more than $1,000 for the below items. I'd like to spend somewhere between $800-1200.

Don't get the Antec case. It has no cable management. You want one with good cable management so you can run all the cords behind the case, and you get way better airflow.

Are you gonna overclock? If so, get the 2500k. If not, the 2400 is just fine.

PSU - not recommend highly cooler master

mobo - z68

cpu - i5 2500k

Heatsink and case, why not going for 120mm with wider case like HAF 912?

video card - GTX 560 ti. I personally would go for cheapest gigabyte...

^^ Agreed

and also what the other guy said about the case, nice looks but bad inside, look at a cooler master haf series or the rosewill destroyer, those are 2 very popular cases with good cable management (where you can run the cables threw a hole around the back and back threw another beside the place it will be connected to, increasing the airflow and looks of the inside).
