Im Going to be doign my first build. Here is a list of the parts i am aquiring so far. Any opinions on the parts would be appreciated. Are There any compatability issues. Is the motherboard capable of supporting the fans in the case. And are there any cheaper or better alternatives to the harddrive. On other tips would be appreiated. By the way, im not worried about overclocking now, but would the setup be sutable for that.

Motherboard- GIGABYTE GA-965G-DS3 LGA 775 Intel G965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard

Case-Antec Performance One P180B Black 0.8mm cold rolled steel for durability through the majority of chassis 1.0mm cold rolled steel around the 4 x HDD area ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Processor-Intel Pentium 4 650 Prescott 3.4GHz 2MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor

Hard Drive-SAMSUNG SpinPoint P Series SP2504C 250GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

Im planning on using my Power supply form my old computer, but would most likely upgrade it in the future. I have 1GB and 256MB cards. And an ATI video card im not concerned about updating right now. Any opinions, and help would be greatly appreciated.
 
ok looks good and i stopped dead at the CPU. P4 is a absolute no. C2D is the way to go.

you have a 1GB card graphics card!! cool


whats your budget for what parts?
 
the garphics card isnt 1 gb. thats actually the ram. I dont remeber what graphics card it is. it was about $250 2 years ago

The dual core are out of my prices range, looking only to spend about 100-125 on processor. But what are they like compared to P4

my budget is 100-125 for each part. I was looking to see if i could save on the harddrive and put the money elsewhere.

wait, 100-125 each part, you get a 80 buck hdd, 50 buck case (best case ever), and use the remaining to get the best CPU on the market.
