Whats up guys, I am relatively new to this and only have a base knowledge so bare with me..

Here is what i have so far (UPDTAED):

CPU: Intel Core i7 920

MOBO: Asus P6T Delux X58 -or- Intel DX58S0 -or- EVGA X58 ATX LGA1366

MEM: OCZ 6GB DDR3 PC3-15000 RAM CL9 Edition Reaper Low-Voltage Triple Channel

VIF CARD: GTX 285 (ftw sc ssc versions depends on price vs preformance)

HD: 1x WD Velociraptor 150GB for os/games and 1x WD 1TB AV-GP -or- 2x WD Caviar Black 750GB 32mb in RAID0

PSU: Corsair HX1000W (may wanna add another GTX285 card in the near future)

Which of the options should i choose and why?

The computer will mostly be used for typical home computing and playing games like wow and new fps's, and I wanna make sure it can run these games at very high frame rates, will the i7 920 be enough?

If there are newer better components for the same price or if there are cheaper components with the same preformance, let me know.

Any and all recommendations / changes will be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

stick with 6gb. the only time where i think you would utilise that much RAM is when you're doing graphic/video editing or 3D stuff.

yea but if he was running tri sli it would run at x8 at not x16 so maybe look for a motherboard with tri-sli x16 for all of them

Good luck.

It doesn't matter anyway if they all run at 16x because the only graphics card
out right now that you will notice a difference on is the GTX295.

Question:

Rather than running one WD v-raptor 150gb or 300gb for os/games and one 1TB drive for music/movies, should i buy 2x WD 640gb and run them in RAID0?

If so, how hard is it to do that, etc?

The question i have is how would 7200rpm regular WD in "RAID0" be faster then the 10000rpm v-raptor?

I've heard yes, if they're 32Mb cache 7200rpm drives.
