Unfortunately, RAM doesn't really play an effect on how much you overclock your CPU.

Yeah, but you would have to go with water cooling.
Not to bad for 3.5 at 1.4V. But yeah if your using the stock cooler a good aftermarket one will help alot on temps. What temps. are you getting now?
After you go so far with your bus you will need to either bump back your memory and HT or up their voltage alittle.

What are you using to read your temps?
Not to bad for a stock cooler. What motherboard have you got?
You said could you take it more if you had better cooling, so I just thought you had a stock cooler.

Was just asking about the board because if you had atleast a SB710 you could have tried to unlock the other two cores. I've saw where the 250s got around 3.7/8 with 1.5V. But you would have to fool around with your memory and HT speed and voltage.
Pretty good one just fooling with your bus and voltage.

If you get higher quality RAM (you can maybe get a better OC)
RAM does play a role, as as your Bus speed increases, your RAM speed increases aswell
so if your RAM cant handle the OC, then your computer will reset CMOS.
But better RAM might handle an OC better
I have cheap DDR2 800MHz ram that is OC'ed to 1050MHz.
But i want to OC my CPU to 2.9GHz, but it freezes, so i need to raise the voltage (which i dont want to do)
It could be the RAM limiting, or the CPU (probably the CPU)
Better Cooling will help with higher voltages. My OC (i just raised the Bus speed) raised my temps by 1 degree
if you raise your voltage, then you will need a better cooler
