My old motherboard was a ge pro-m2 and my new motherboard is an ASUS P4V8X-MX P4M800 478. When I turned on the computer with the new motherboard I didn't get any display but all the lights and the fans came on. I have everything in place but my ram came from the old motherboard, I have an Intel Pentium 4 Socket 478 Processor 3.0E, 3.0GHz, 800MHz FSB, 1MB L2 Cache cpu. Anyone had any experience installing this motherboard? I also found out I put the motherboard in first without the plastic caps that keep the motherboard from touching the metal. I put them in and I still get all lights and fans but no display.

Yeah i had the same problem. Make sure your video card is running. RAM is also a factor becuase without the memory your comp won't boot. do you have DDR or DDR2 memory? You may have also fried your motherboard, not sure though

I was afraid of that my computer lights still turn on but there is no display how can I find out if it is fried? I'm using 2 1gig ddr pc2700 memory chips between 333/266/200 compatible with my ge pro-m2, possibly 333. I'm not using a video card it is supposed to have onboard video. Correct me if i'm wrong but when I turn on the power everyting starts up from the fans to lights turning on. The monitor just never comes on if the motherboard was fried wouldn't it be completly powerless I mean no fans no lights?

1. Onboard video is bad
2. RAM if faulty
3. You didnt plug in the 20+4, or the yellow black 4pin
4. Unsufficient PSU
5. Shorting between the case and motherboard
6. Motherboard is faulty
7. CPU is faulty
8. CPU Fan is not plugged in correctly
