hi all,
so im finally making the desicion to apply myself to the realm of pc construction (even though ive been using for years). i want to try linux but i wasnt sure how intense learning it would be. i know plenty of programs that have mostly self-taught, so i know i can learn new things, but i wasnt sure how much this entails. can anybody give me some input on where or if i should start at all. thanks

Linux is not hard to learn. I tend to recommend Ubuntu a lot because I use it.

I would recommend dual-booting Windows and Linux at least at first, until you're comfortable with linux.

Download from here and try Ubuntu out as a live CD before you install it.
