FIX it (rma) or BUY NEW?

Hi
I am new here. Nice to "meet" you all.

I have a DFI LANPARTY P35 motherboard.
The CPU is a Q6600 (socket 775).
I am not OCing my machine.

Lately I have been having an issue with booting. I keep getting the "CHECKSUM ERROR" message.

In short, I contacted DFI, and they said that an RMA will be $45.

This brings me to the question - should I forget about the DFI and go ahead and buy a new motherboard (they are rather cheap), or is my DFI such a good MB (back in the day it was the best of the best) that I should have it RMA?

Appreciate your input.
Thanks

Oh yea I went through all of that. It does not work. It keeps doing that after installing a new battery, and after reseting the CMOS as well. So maybe something more problematic.

I started getting similar problems, tried everything, swapped everything and eventually gave up on it for a few months. So today I built an i5 as a replacement, and the difference is already noticeable. So if you get chance to upgrade I would advise it
