Fixing a PSU

My PSU smells like burning plastic, which i assume to be the wireing, How easy do you think it would be to fix a psu weather tis the wires or possibly something else with just some rewiring/resleeving/soldering?

Hehe

Well I when you smell what you smelled, then the likelihood of you fixing the PSU is very small. Just because you smell plastic does not mean it was a wire. It could have been a capacitor blowing and melthing its plasti cover. Did you open up the PSU yet?

JAN :D

If you open it up and don't know what you're doing you can die.. it can hold elctricity for months while being unplugged

I know it might not be wire, but if it was a capacitor I dout the PSU would still work fine, which it does and I'm currently actully running it fine on this comptuer, and hopefully it last's at least untill tomorrow so i can order a new psu....[Whcih i was going to do anyways, but my plan was to use thie one on another crappy PC I'm building for e-mail/internet up in my room]

Edit:No I didn't open it up, I want to anwser all my e-mails before it die's/or I break it heh, and I'm posting on breaks :(
