Fixing Laptops?

Hi,
I'm nearly broke and sick of using this Tablet. I got three laptops that all have only broken screens was wandering if screens are not to expensive and can they be replaced?

Iv'e toyed with the idea of also connecting a separate normal computer screen but i charge and run things "off grid' in 12volt batteries using an inverter so low power consumption is the goal.

Perhaps i could buy a seperate 12 volt T.V. screen which i want to get for a tv but also connect the broken screened Laptops to.
 
If you can find the screens on ebay or the like, then they can be replaced. It will be quite a job to replace them, but as long as you take your time and keep track of what goes where it is not undoable.

External is not the solution if you are looking for low power.
