Flash drive as back up

I have just bought a new computer. It has no floppy drive. I used to use the floppy for backing up files. Are these small flash sticks ok to use for storing info as back up. They are very fast & seem ideal. DvD's take forever to burn.

They're fine, just be careful when removing them and all. I had quite a few problems with my GPS from removing my SD card too quickly and files not being completely written (Window's delay write and such...)

I wouldn't rely on it if info is not replaceable. I think it's to volatile to trust.
Use the 'eject' option in Windows for all mission critical stuff.

Thanks guys. I will buy an external hard drive & use Norton Ghost to back up my internal hard drive every so often & use the flash also.
