Flashing BIOS

Ok, just hit the chapter about flashing BIOS. Is it nesassary to mess with the jumper on the board? Im still trying to figure jumpers out. Doesnt seem complicated but the illustrations they gave are just poop. You can always head to CMOS to set the BIOS up for the upgrade correct??

Secondly, is it best to always update the chipset drivers? or is it ok to let them be?

Edit-ok, understand how jumpers work with the jumpers covers etc. But how exactly do they play a role in flashing your bios??

Never played with any jumpers to flash.
One thing though......flashing will shut you down. My flash was
related to specific hardware. if its not hardware related to you or
a critical update to make the board faster i would leave it alone.
Will it fix your problem? it can be risky business.
