flashing IE computers

hey fairly recently on my parents computer, the green flashing IE symbol in the taskbar hasnt appeared when they log into the internet. this is a pain coz they dont know if theyve disconected and they dont adapt well to change lol. anyone know how to get this symbol back????

hey nah its not hidden aye ive already checked that. It just vanished off the face of the earth.

goto network connections, find the dail up connection that you normally use for the internet (it will probably be default and thus have a tick next to it).
Right click on it.
Ensure you are looking at the general tab.
At the bottom it should say something like show icon in notification are when connected. Make sure the tick dox next to this is ticked,
click ok
