Flashing Video Card Bios With No Floppy Drive?

Your gto is an underclocked, undervolted version of the gtx (duh). Flashing it with the gtx bios will not do anything. You will have to physically mod your board to get the voltages back up. This is just what i see with a quick google search so i may be wrong. ;) If you have something of relevance stating otherwise i would be happy to look at it.

You can burn the required files to a bootable CD and use that, but you won't be able to backup the existing BIOS file in case something goes wrong.

im not sure about a program but im sure you can make a bootable disc instead. you do have a dick drive right? if you ever choose to do this you know the risks right? you could potentially destroy your card.

im not to worried about backing up the original.. I can just download a copy of the original cant I?.. Well. Im not getting the 6K i thought I would be gettin in 3DMark06, im only gettin 5,200. not sure what to do. I would like to get it up to 6K so I can play TestDrive Unlimited and have it look good when it comes out. a card that runs 6K 3dmark06 is the the min required to run full grahpics in that game and get good FPS. So what should I do?
Should I flash up to a GTX.. What kind of #'s does a GTX pull stock if anyone knows.. Should i do the VoltMod?

also.. the text is kinda blurry with this 7900GTO compared to my onboard video. its like i can see a letter dark black then a light grey one a tiny but off center to the black one..its to the right and down a little... This is the same monitor I was using with the same setup.. this card only has DVI I had to use a DVI to VGA converter. wich I was also using on my X1650 and it looked awsome on there?.. whats the deal?

does the riva tuner not support this card? That is what I have used in the past to unlock features in cards.

I have RivaTuner and it sees this card.. I cant overclock with it.. but I can adjust my fans.. How can you use it to unlock features?. under Advanced user?..

this blury text thing is really anoying...

Like i said i may be wrong but i believe flashing to a gtx is not enough, you will have to do the voltmod. It's up to you.

I dont think I need to solder anything to up the voltage. This came up in a diffrent forum

"Hello, I did a softmod on my 7900GTO using Nibitor I flashed to have 1.5v on the GPU voltage but I dind see any improvement I still overclock the card the same as before 720/770. My question is this card will take a 1.6v without soldering anithing ? my card is a 7900GTO EVGA"

Mine is also an EVGA..He did not see a diffrence, but that will take care of the voltage when I flash up to a GTX if I do

Well.. Some people say that using software to change it works.. others dont think it does.. either way if it does not all i have to do is a small pencil mod (draw a line from on side of the resistor to the other) to lower the resistance (measuring it) wich will raise the voltage. then put tape over it so it does not blow away. I will do more research
