floppy disk problem

If this is in the wrong place, tell me and I will move it. I figured this is the best place. Anyways, I backed up my Quicken account on a floppy disk before I formatted. Now I can't restore the file. Quicken says it is not formatted properly. I can't copy it to my hard drive either. Is there a way to get the file off there?

It is a brand new external floppy drive and new disks.

Never mind, I just screwed myself. I thought that I could drag the files to the recycle bin and restore them from there. But they were not in the recycle bin. It just disappeared. There isn't a way to find the files is there?

dont know about the floppy but you dont put yur files in recycle bin then format.you will lose it all...why didn't u partition your drive and put ur data on the other partition..And yes you can find deleted files..use
1.Ontrack easy recovery and/ or
2.Recover my files (latest version)

I put the files in the recycle bin after I formatted the hard drive and reinstalled windows hoping I could recover the files from the recycle bin. But they were not in the recycle bin.

i hope they answered you q, but for futrure reference use a flash drive! they don't have formatting issues, and you can get a 1GB flash drive for like 20 bucks. :D

Floppies are incredibly unreliable. I have formatted brand new floppies and copied something to them, then tried to take it over to another computer and copy the files there, and it wouldn't work. It would give me the same formatting error.. Crap.. Junk.. It's less hassle to put them on a CD.

The only reason I didn't put it on a cd is because every cd I tried said it was full or unusable.

Right now I am scanning my computer for the deleted file using Recover my files. Hopefully it will find it.
