floppy drive doesnt work

i built my computer and my friends and both dont work so i must not be doing somethign correctly

is there some trick to it?

i get the green light but its not recognized

does the green light stay on all the time? if so then your cable is attached wrong, otherwise you might want to check around in your BIOS settings and see if your floppy drive is disabled for some reason.

only comes on when you put a disk in i think

I ll have to double check when i get home

make sure the end of the cable with the twist in is at the floppy drive end,and have you tried turrning cable over

The red stripe should be at pin1, and it should say on the drive(albeit in small type) which one is pin1. On mine, looking at the back, it is on the left. I would imagine that it is the same side for all floppies, but

ill check that and flip it around
