ok im not sure what the deal is here, but basically i need to update my bios. i have a DFI infinity 975x crossfire motherboard and it supports quad core, it just needs an update to its bios. my quad core comes on wednesday and i want the rest of my computer to be in tip-top shape for it.
the floppy drive on my computer seems to be broken, or the floppy controller on my motherboard isn't working. now here's what i've tried:
-plugging the ribbon cables in every which way
-checking disk management (the floppy doesn't show)
-checking the floppy controller under device manager (it says its working fine!)
does anyone have any ideas as to how i can get the thing working?! the floppy drive works when i plug into my dad's computer.. maybe its just Vista? because he runs windows XP still..
maybe there's a way i can update my bios without bothering with a floppy disk drive...
