i was tryin to update my bios, i putted in my floppy into da drive double clicked on A:/ , says plz insert disk into drive... which i jus did ..

trying unplugging and plugging the connector on the drive and try a different floppy too. i've had bad floppys right out of the box on many occasions.

i always flash the bios from a cd, i think its easyier... you might wanna try that...go to bootdisk.com and they'll tell you how to do it

do you have a reason to update your bios besides the fact you are conscious about everything being up to date. other than that...i recommend you dont do it

Make sure to add the Flash the bios program in either Award or Phienox if I remember correctly depending on witch type you have. Reformat the floppy to run in dos. Add the bios .bin file. Never checkedout bootdisk.com but sounds helpful.

Just something to keep in mind. Updateing your BIOS can destroy your motherboard. No reversal.

BIOS update usually fixes issues like the previous bios update for some mobo fixes are HANG when installing xp sp2.

I did it cause my first version sucked, it wouldn't let me change anything... If you get the rite version for you mobo/chipset and set the cd/floppy up rite , nothing will happen unless your luck really sucks and a file is corrupt..

Sometimes the file you download from the site needs to be renamed to be recognized as an acceptable BIOS hehe this happens with some ASUS BIOSes so i wouldnt be surprised if MSI did the same

If, by opening their mouths, people can be stupid ... why do people open their mouths? ;)
