FLV movie clips - User Friendly Editing Program?

Hello, i have asked this question previously: that is... IS there a good video editing program to use with .flv files? I was told to try AVIDEMUX or VirtualDub. But these seem very limited and difficult to use compared to Win MovieMaker.

I am very new to this and not at all familiar with how the different formats of video even work. I often use Windows Movie Maker to edit WMV files and i find this to be an excellent user friendly program that has many features but cannot import FLV files.

Can somebody please explain the difference between WMV file and FLV file format? Is AVI similar to FLV format? And is there a program that can convert a .flv movie file to a .wmv file ?

I have downloaded quite a few clips from the internet and YouTube using RealPlayer Downloader and it makes them in a .flv format. But playing around with them is much more difficult compared to Windows Movie Maker.

Thanks for any guidance

movie maker is probably the most basic thing out there but it wont be hard to lear a new program if you already know movie maker.

The only difference would be slight video quality, but the main problem with flv format is it`s hard to work with as most programs don`t support it and you cant really use flv videos on portable media like phones etc because they too don`t support it, the only place i have ever found flv format is when you download from sites like youtube.

I find the easiest thing to do is convert them to another format, avi and mp4 are both very common and compatible with lots of progams and media players.

try format factory 2.70 from www.formatoz.com

and any video converter 3.2.3 from http://www.any-video-converter.com/download-freeware/

Premiere Pro takes FLVs just fine and convert your finished project into whatever other file you want, but it's a bit pricey.
