For a 3200+ 939...

What is the "best" mobo for the Winchester 3200+ 939 CPU? I'm torn between the NF4 Ultra (new and i don't know how it performs) or the NF3 Ultra series (older but proven to eb a sloid overclocker on most boards)

I was considering the MSI Neo2 Platinum board...but then someone suggested the NF4 Ultra series.

What would you go with? Also...is the 3200+ Winchester the only 3200+ 939 core...or is there another one?

Im assuming you're not considering a NF4-SLI since they are stupidly overcharged right now. If you go the NF4U route you might be able to do the NF4U-->NF4-SLI mod and if you do go NF4 then id look at Gigabyte/ASUS. For the NF3Ultra then MSI Neo2 Plat is the premier board for ya :)

Well there is a Socket754 3200 i think

no i have absolutely no plans of going SLI, cuz thats would mean $400+ for gfx cards PLUS the overpriced mobo itself...i just plan on a regular PCI-E board. If i suddenly get rich or something maybe i could consider it lol. i'm planning on NF3U for now i think...

hmm alrighty, i thought maybe there were 2 939 cores, like a Winchester and then something that started with a C or something. as long as im not getting the WRONG one for overclocking lol. alot of people just call them "winnies" so i guess thats the right one.

there is a athlon 64 3200 clawhammer, winchester and newcastle. only the winchester comes in socket 939. both the newcastle and the clawhammer is socket 754.

If you interested this lists pretty much every amd chip there is

ah kewl that's what i was wondering, i'm not interested in 754 so i guess the Winchester is the way to go.

thats an awesome find btw lol, i'll be saving that pic:)

There's three corresponding to the C,D,E code on the chip :)

Is that based on the week they were made? I've never really been into "get week 49 it's the best" i jsut really look for the best stepping. and since it's not guaranteed i'm just hopeing to get lucky.
