For fun: $600 Gaming Computer

I created this setup while sitting in math..

Wasn't the best use of my time but I think everything checks out..

It's an A10.. No criticism please as I never intended for this to be built.

IT IS COMPATIBLE THOUGH! http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2BuQx

You could save a bit of money on a build like that. The A10-6800K won't CrossfireX with the HD 7770 - only the 7750 and below, so you are basically paying $40 in a $600 build for an iGPU that you can't use.
If you went with an AMD Athlon 760K $90 the CPU and GPU performance would be exactly the same. Then spend the $40 on the GPU/PSU instead.

Ahhhh I see.. I don't see any point in building this computer though... If you were going with an APU I don't see the point in getting an actual GPU..

I would rather go with an FX and dedicated GPU than APU and GPU...

I get what you say about the A10 crossfire with a 7770..

If I remember correctly, 6670 crossfire with APU.

Mobo - I would get something with A88X FM2+ instead. Don't see the point getting FM2

RAM - cheapest DDR3 2133 start at $75.

Although it doesn't officially support CFX with the HD 7750 (it says that HD 6670 is the highest end card), you can still CFX with the 7750.
And yes, an FX/AM3+ build would be better, but often the FM2/FM2+ boards are much cheaper than AM3+
FM2/2+ also supports much higher RAM frequencies as daisy points out.

Were you bored in your maths lesson or something? ;)

It all works, but as has been said, it can be done better. For a start, the 7770 is an old card (almost 2 years old). Look at the R7 260X now. One of my friends just bought a 2GB 260X actually. Will have to see how he gets on with it (he upgraded from a 384MB GeForce 9600 GSO, so quite an upgrade).

I've been thinking about buying the 260x as well, for a $600 build ($700 with OS, if I actually pay for it). I'm planning on buying a better card when more Next-Gen games start rolling out. Especially for Fallout 4!

Right now the most intensive games I'll play are probably Battlefield 4, Skyrim, and Dayz Standalone. I'm sure it will be more than adequate for Skyrim, but I"m not sure how it will fair on the other two.

Some members on this forum played Skyrim with old 3870s and 5770s at high settings, so you should be fine with an R7 260X. I don't think Skyrim is too demanding.

I think the 260X will be an ideal card for you. It's certainly good value for money at this point in time. :)

I actually was!

This build was as the name implies.. I'll probably need some more help in the future but with my custom instead..

Spirit: This is unrelated but I'm not sure if you remember me,(probably not), but I was a member of this forum quite a while ago under the name MVTA or Skeptik somethin...

Oh, I'm sure Skyrim will be totally fine. It's BF4 and Dayz Standalone I'm worried about. I don't need to play BF4 on Ultra, but I'd like to play it on at least Medium, and Dayz is poorly optimized.

I DO have a 900p monitor so that should help a bit.

I think I remember somebody on here called 'SkeptikProductions' or something like that. Good to see you back anyway. :good:
