for hardcore notebook gamers

But I thought the point of gamming with a laptop was NOT to have additional crap to carry around, like that huge LCD they have in the background :P
 
that seems kind of stupid to me, if you're going to carry around that much crap why not just drag a computer tower along. Then you only have one thing vs a bunch of littler things that you could loose more easily.
 
That is exactly how I feel about it guys. I was just posting to show what is up in the market. I don’t see why you need to buy that or anything else for your notebook. I also see a lot of guys have separate coolers for the notebooks, I personally do not like that, so I have been doing some research on what notebooks run cool, and it seems that users of Asus gaming laptops give good reviews about heat even while gaming fear, oblivion ect. :D

The whole reason for me, of having a notebook is the portability, and those products completely defeat the purpose.
 
hmm when they say it will display on the monitor that is vague, I don't think you have to use a external monitor with it. If you do that would suck even more! :mad:

Trust me, unless the monitor is rewired, you can't use the internal monitor. There are other external video cards(well, PC-Card ones) and they work the same way.
 
so let me understand what you are saying. If for example we were to use the external video card we would need to use a external monitor too?
 
It’s a nice gimmick, but not practical unless your one of those people who have to have something new and different. And lots of spare cash.

Sort of defeats the point of a Laptop!

Although I do like the Overclock dial thing wouldn't that be good on your desktop computer. Or just in a conventional laptop to conserve power when not running 3D intensive applications.

Engineer behind this invention, must have been a genius.. must have said to himself "Self, we need to save the world of gaming laptops" self said, "how will we do this engineer????"

"Well self, lets design an overclockable BRICK that will act like an external video card, and plus... you will need some type of monitor also! GENIUS!"

"People will want this, it can't go on the market to cheap now self... let's say about 3/4 the price of a gaming laptop self. We're going to be rich"
