For sale is a used Intel 2500k 1155 socket CPU. Unlike my old Q6600 I never overclocked this unit. Ran it at the stock settings with the turbo boot enabled. Works great, if you have any questions feel free to ask!

Price = $125 shipped

I've just bought a i5 3450, but would prefer the OCability of a K series Sandy :)

You should be able to get that 3450 easily to 3.8ghz on a decent motherboard. 3.8ghz on Ivy is going to be like 4.0-4.1ghz on sandy bridge. So a 2500k will get you to maybe 4.5ghz, you know what the difference is? Not even noticeable. Plus Ivy has PCIe 3.0 support and uses less power.

Yes but the max multiplier is 37, and a bump to 103 base clock will put you at 3.8ghz. And decent board will be able to overclock on the base clock with no problems.

As I said, 3.8ghz on the 3450 is going to be around the same performance of a 4ghz 2500k. You may get 4.4-4.5ghz out of the 2500k, but you won't even be able to feel the difference at all.
