so i burn dvds, encode movies, and use aim, firefox, and msn all at the same time
dont do much gaming, just occasionally gta or the sims 2

so my question
for what i use my pc for, am i going to see a difference by getting an E6300 instead of an 3800+X2?

Well, probably no. The x2 might I said might outperform the E6300 but don't hold me to that. Although the E6300 overclocks very well. So if you are not overclocking go for the x2 but if you are go for the intel.

EDIT: After a little research I noticed that the E6300 is comparable to the x2 4600.
