Force File Deletion

Im running XP Pro and there is a certain file that i cant rename, move, or run, so i tried to delete it but it wont even let me do that. It gives me the same text box every time that another program is trying to use it. I went into taskmanager and ended most of the processes but it still wont allow me to do anything with it. Anyone know a way to force the file to delete and override the "being used by another program" thing?? thnx

yes! thats exactly what happend to me. ill give those tips a try. thanx. i really wanted to get it to play though. do u know y it wont?

but you wanted to play what? what is it? what type of file..

if you dont know about the file, better dont delete it. probably it is system file. if you delete it the os will corrupted and you need to recovery or worstly you need to reinstall.
