formatting a logical drive without loosing other partition data

I am planning on formatting C: which contains Vista. I have 1 primary partition which has windows XP, and 3 logical drives: Vista, and two other data partitions.

I need to re-install Vista on C:, would it erase the data on my other partitions?

Thanks.

Assuming you're gonna do this via XP ? yes you will lose the data (Like documents/videos/desktop
etc etc) but only those in Vista, the other partitions , no.

No. Formatting a partition will only delete that single partition's data. Just make sure you choose the partition and not the entire drive!
