Formatting hard drives...

I bought a new OEM hard drive without the formatting software for a new computer, and OEM windows without the software either...so what are my options to format it and do i really need to format it in the first place?

if you don't format a new hard drive then you don't have a new hard drive. they don't come formated.

Is it to be the only HDD in your computer? If so boot from your MS Windows CD, and part way through the installation you'll be given the option to partition/format you drive.
