formatting ssd

on a new build / i am thinking of testing it 1st without buying another
windows 7 copy- can i load on a win 7 exisitng copy and put in a used
oem code-it will say it's not good, but give me 30days use without a liscence
i can test the system etc. when i am done can i format the ssd without ruining it.? also when everythong is ok i will buy a new windows copy.

You don't even need to put a COA in for the 30 day trial. Just install Windows 7 and when it asks for a key, just click skip.

It won't ruin it. I suggest you look at the ssd's manufacturer's site to see what they recommend for firmware version and, they probably have their own recommneded erasing proccedure.
