Frame Buffer Size Higher than Normal?

Ok I have a question I have a geforce go 6100, I looked all over the web and found that it is a 128MB graphics card but since its integrated I can change the frame buffer size to 256MB. So here's my question is the card acting like a true 256MB graphics card (am I overclocking it?) or is when its leeching off my memory it still is and always is a 128MB graphics card?
