Fraps type software

hey, i want to record some of my games, i have been using fraps but it drops my FPS by about 80%. is there any program (prefurably free) that will allow me to record, but not make my FPS drop too much?

Try turning everything off, and don't play the file until the game is completely off.

I thik he means a program where he can record the gameplay without throwing the fps down the drain entirely

yes thats what i mean archangel, fraps gets really annoying.
yer, and i mean when im actually recording, not watching the recorded video.

I don't know if it is any good. I was looking for a java tool that I've used to record stuff but I stumbled across that one.
