So I was putting the case back onto my computer when I heard a little rattle. I shook the comp a bit to see where it was coming from and sure enough, the lithium battery falls out. I haven't put it back in, but the time is correct and all my settings seem to be fine. Any idea?

Also, while putting the case back on, a loose plug(i didn't put it together, friend did) surged and sparked. I don't see any damage yet, how long would it take before a fried chip would start acting up?
 
Not a good idea to shake a computer, the HD doesn't like it. Without the battery in your settings won't be affected - until you reboot.
 
I suggest you be more careful with your computer. Battery falling out, connections not plugged in right /sparks, shaking computer. All not good things.
 
well it sounds like it is ok, but before carrying on any further, check EVERYTHING. All connections, all jumpers, batteries, heatsinks everything that can possibly move or cause a problem.

And don't shake your computer :P

And be careful with names of threads
 
Lmao I don't mean I shook like wringing someone's neck, I just kinda poked it and it came tumbling down. I rebooted and once again, all my settings all the same. I'm somewhat scared to put the battery back in, I can injure the mobo or cpu if I don't do it correctly, no?

Also don't shake the baby. I figure it is a good thing to bring up now.



Also if it sparked then there is damage...it can be very tiny so look for small black spots etc all over the PC.

Turning it on again could lead to bad things.
