hey,
could u guys post up a few freeware items that u can get that u think is essential to day to day use and please state why!
im getting a new comp and wanna have all this sorted out!

No anti-virus will catch eveyrthing, AVG, Avast and Antivir are all good. The free firewalls are similar, depends which one you like. Try ZoneAlarm, Kerio or Sygate. Don't forget antispyware. Get Adaware, Spybot, MS Antispyware and Spywareblaster.

P2P = Limewire or shareaza , i have limewire pro and shareaza
Temp= Speedfan
Antivirus = AVG Free
Spyware = Spy Doctor
DVD Ripping = DVD Shrink and Smartripper
Browser = FireFox
