Free .com domain name...

sorry, thats impossible. . com will cost quite a bit. And without a credit card your stuffed, use your dads and pay him back or something
 
It will prabally cost around 10$. I got one for 8$(I got it though my host from godaddy, It was really 10, but they guy told me 8$ by acedent and since he told me that, thats all he made me pay) and then the one i just got yesterday was 10$ also though my host from godaddy.(I think, heh)

Some places will let you mail them CASH and will register it once they get it. Or if you can get paypal and either have someone pay you will paypal so then you have funds in your paypal adccount, or transfer it from your bank into your paypal balence, many places will accept paypal instead of a credit card.

You wont find ANY free DOMAIN name, even the .TK thats not really a full domain name their, Thats just like URL forwarding it just discises the URL under it.

Oh, **** it. I guess I'll have to find someone with a card.

Something I'd like to know is: Is it possible to register a domain name for life or does one have to keep renewing it every so often?
 
I think the minimum duration of a contract is for 1-2 years and the maximum is somewhere around 5 years at a time. It won't cost much if you just go looking for it there are some really big organisations that offer really low prices.
