the reason it has to be reasonably easy is just that i havnt played games in years and am unsure if i could keep up with the latest ones,also games that are quite simple to pick up and play are better for short gaming sessions between doing other things,an example of the last games i played would be
streetfighter 2 champion edition super nintendo
super mariokart super nintendo
granturismo ps2
time crisis 1,2,3 ps2
have never played games on a pc before!

i like www.zone.com, its made by microsoft, they have tons of free games that you can play, and you can play online with other ppl to.

with a 9700? ha, you could play wow or HL2, maybe. Easly halo and cs. The only lag would probably be from internet. Hahah whoops Free games, uhh probably Maplestory and Gunbound

i do have a laptop and its not that good, its my school comp so they also got it quite secured -.- so you cant install any exe files. but there is a way to get admin, but if the notice that you made yourself to a admin.. bye bye computer v.v for a week. But there is always small games that i used to installin my documents. you'll find some kinda good games to have fun with at www.ebaumsworld.com www.newgrounds.com maybe you'll find something interesting

Take a look around on www.the-underdogs.org they have some free games on there, but I dont know if your gonna get descent games ... I have some suggestions:

System Shock 2 free on the underdogs, not a bad game from 1999
Enemy Territory, Play online or get bots
