free PSU....it good?

The Raidmax name is one make named in the "foobar" list here. By the sounds of that "generic cheapy" sounding off name iit may be another one to add to the "bad" list of makes and model supplies that don't make the grade.

Good:
Antec(except Smart Power models) - Astec - AOpen - Channel Well - Coolermaster - Enermax(except Liberty models)
- Enlight - Fortron Source (Sparkle) - HEC - OCZ Technology - PC Power & Cooling - PowerMan
- Seasonic - SilverStone - Tagan - TTGI/SuperFlower - Vantec - Zippy / Emacs - Verax - Zalman
- Corsair

Bad:
Allied - Antec Smart Power models seem to lack(recommend True Power or NeoHE) - Aspire - CoolMax - DEER - Enermax Liberty models - EYE-T
- KingStar - L&C - Linkworld - Logisys - PowerMagic - PowerUp - Powmax - Q-Tec - Raidmax - Skyhawk - Star
- Turbolink - Ultra - ThermalTake(complaints heard) - Rosewill - SilenX ???

Have a close look to see if you recognise anything in these two lists above.

nope...but i take relief in the good reviews, wayyyy better than the raidmax. raidmax sells great cases, but they need to stay away from PSUs. its ruining their image.

Well look again and you will see that Raidmax has it's place in the "foober" list. The sunbeam miodel seen there even OEM is a low ender for sure. The main thing to go by is who makes the model since different companies at times will do that. Channel Well was making Antec until the latest TP3 with supposed three 12v rails revealed as a low end Seasonic model.

I'm afraid that lowend Sunbeam's aren't great PSUs. The Nuuo series is very good, but those are about the only ones.
