free text editor help

I need a text editor that will let me open any kind of Text Document.

I used Oppen Office and it never worked for me it just had a lot of bugs or it was bugy for me.

So now I am useing AbiWord and it is good but one thing I can open say a document that was in 15 Font Size. And it say the text is in 15 Font Size.

But when I type I can not change my font zise to 15 or anything I want I have to pick a font size in the list.

Is tthere any other text programs that are free like Oppen Office?
 
If you are an Ubuntu user you might have used VIM.

If not then it is a really powerful text editor.It won't open .doc but will open almost anything.
It also has automatic indent feature and will also fold you functions for you automatically.


Another good one is Qjot.This will open .doc also.

Well I meen a Word Processor like OpenOffice.

Like if someone sends me a .DOC or any other Text document I can open it.

OpenOffice I had and it was good but it was a bit buggy for me.
I am useing AbiWord and it is like OpenOffice but it does not let me change the font size to whatever I want. I have to pick from a list and it does not have all the font sizes.
