Free Windows 10 - was it a scam ?

I had an offer I assume from Windows of a free Windows 10 - always wanting to keep my laptop up to date I said yes please. After a few days I was sent the upload. Now I wish I had not.

What a nightmare - most of my apps from my Windows 8.1 have disapeared into a little box in the bottom left hand corner, the main page with Photos/Calender etc etc fits on 2/3rd of the home page. Not as colorful as the previous version.

I am ust wondering if it was a scam and was not the real thing, very disapointed - tried system restore but keeps coming back.

If someone could advise me how to print screen I could include it on this post.

Please help. Many thanks

For the whole desktop area, just press the prnt scrn button on your keyboard. Open paint, press ctrl + v to paste it into paint and save the it as a jpg file. Then you can host the photo on photobucket or any other photo sharing site and either embed the image using a forum link or just give us a link to your photo. Doing a system restore won't do it, you have to uninstall it via control panel, just like you did with all other upgrades.

Looks like you are using the metro(tile) screen. Go into your settings and choose to use the start screen.

Thanks again Ive done that, are you saying this IS an authentic Windows 10 version. The tabs below do not show, maybe I need more lessons. Any ideas on where to see a good tutorial ?

Looks like it is. I'm not upgrading to 10 for at least 6 months. But I'm sure some of the other members here can tell you for sure. Did you get the notification from the icon in your task bar down by the clock?
