Freeware Video Editor

Hey All.

I'm looking for a free video editor, simply for cutting and pasting, preferably something that can save in .MPEG or .WMV format.

what's your OS? Is Windows Movie Maker not good enough for that?

I'm using XP SP2.

Movie Maker doesn't want to load video files like that, even if it's in AVI. It won't import it. I get the "File Type not supported" error, no matter what file type it is.

then you're most likely having some sort of codec issue. You can download K-lite codec pack and see if that solves it -or- you can try converting the files with SUPER before importing. I suggest trying codecs first as video conversion/encoding lowers the quality of video.
