Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum for one reason. I have a problem that I can't figure out how to solve! Please help me if you can; this is driving me nuts!
I built my computer with an 845G Socket 478 Gigabyte motherboard, 2G P4 processor, 768Mb RAM, and am running XP Pro. My dig. camera is a Sony CyberShot DSC-P41. I used the camera with this computer for about 3 years before this ever happened. Recently, whenever I plug the camera in (USB) it makes my computer freeze up. No Ctrl-Alt-Del, no mouse, nothing. I can even leave it for a long period of time and it will never come back to life, even if I unplug the camera. I have removed and installed the drivers numerous times without luck. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for the USB devices. I have tried using different USB ports on the computer after knowing that they all worked well (other devices operate in them).
I can't think of what it could be. I did put my components in a new ThermalTake case recently but I don't think that is causing any problem. I know that the camera works fine because I have uploaded pictures to other computers without any trouble at all.
Do you have any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help!
