Freezing because of videos

yesterday i was trying to download the latest version of k-lite codec full pack and after installing it some videos started to not be in synch with the voice of the speaker in the video. i uninstalled the kodec pack butr i see that the folder which has those videos, makes my computer freeze or operate really slow.
there must be something wrong with the registry? i have to restart my computer to make everything get back to normal. whenever i open that folder, my computer freezes. what can i do?
