Freezing in Windows 98

I'm running Windows 98 and everytime I double-click 'My Computer' it freezes and after a few seconds if I go into the Task Manager it says 'Not Responding' I can't figure out what's causing this or how to fix it. Any suggestions?

Do you have a storage device (USB stick, digital camera, etc.) attached to the computer or a cd in the drive?

thats the bug in 98 lol always freezes on my and most of the time you can't get out of a not responding thingy forced to restart or hard shutdown. i would upgrade the os if possible? think microsoft already pulled 98 off the update site. dont bother with win ME though worst than 98. go with 2000 or xp or 2003.
