Freezing

I bought F.E.A.R. the other day, and was getting a lot of clipping, so I updated my video card drivers and my system went haywire! after the restart my screen was flashing on and off again, and I couldn't do anything. I finally got the drivers rolled back, and whenever I try to run any games, the computer freezes. I decided to format and start again with a fresh install, but even after that I'm having the same problem. Every time i run any games, my computer freezes! specs are in the sig, anyone have any ideas, cause I'm stumped.

Try the drivers that came on the CD that came with your graphics card.
 
I reseated the video card, and it's still doing the same thing, but the flashing screen has resumed. the screen will turn off for several seconds the turn back on again, and start flashing the jumbled screen. Fried video card maybe?
 
possibly.. if you can try another vid card in your system or try that one in another computer, do it... lets try to pin-point the vid card as the problem.
 
I tried the vid card in another computer, and the computer froze up during an onscreen explosion....I've only had this card for 3 months!
