Freezy mouse?!?!

Hi,
I have this problem that occasionally my mouse just freezes on the screen. It can sometimes be more than a second! This is very annoying when playing online games as the crosshairs just freeze at that point on the screen.

Why is this happening? How can i stop it?

My PC specs are, if it helps: 320w psu, 3.4s775, X700p, AA8xe, 1gb of kingston or kingmax RAM, Cant remember which!

On my old PC any PS/2 mouse that I use stuck a LOT. I tried a USB mouse and it worked fine, so I guess the crappy Dell mobo had the PS/2 port break. Try using a USB mouse and see if that works.
 
check that your mouse drivers are installed properly in device manager if they are try lending a mates mouse and see if that does the same thing if it doesnt it might be a brocken mouse, if its a ball mouse clean the ball if its optical make sure the mouse mat is compatable, good luck
 
Hmm

Certainly try a different mouse. Sometimes, the cursor freezes because the PC is busy doing something in the background as has been suggested. Try closing all possible useless programs before playing for example. If the first fails, you can basically count on the second because I doubt the PS2 port would be causing the problem. What OS are you using?
