Frequent Freezes

My computer has been freezing a lot recently during very simple tasks (such as clicking a link in firefox with no other programs running). I just OCed my 5600+ to 3.1GHz, but I've run orthos for over an hour and I don't freeze, and it's stable until I stop it. Even when playing BF2 or other games, I never freeze. Does anyone have a solution?

Repair install of Windows?

Doesn't sound like overheating... Do this before OC?

Is it really really cold where you are?:rolleyes::rolleyes:

... An CPU loves the cold, and hates the hot...

You could be at -20F and the CPU would run fine...

This happened to me when I switched an bunch of hardware... and when I accidentally left my heatsink off...

It did it before the OC, so I don't think it's that. I'm usually 23*c idle and 40-41*c load. I could repair windows, and even though I don't want to reinstall, I know it's probably the only option.

no maybe run a memtest and download ccleaner and check for errors with that, i have used that option before and it is a godsend i swear

Ok. Ran Memtest for over an hour, got to about 260% when I stopped it, so I don't think thats the problem. I also ran C Cleanup. I'll notify you guys if I keep freezing. Thanks Matt.
