Hello, can anyone advise me on my problem with installing Vista?
I recently built a new PC, but I'm having problems installing Vista. I first thought the problem was with my hardware, but I successfully formatted the HDD with an old XP disc, and I can get into BIOS (to set the boot device to DVD drive), so I think the setup is working fine.
I've tried two copies of Vista, and the same thing happens with both:
PC boots, microsoft loading screen, Vista swirly blue background, but no install information.
I've never installed Vista before, so I'm wondering whether I'm doing something stupid.
The HDD is SATA, which I've never used before, so that might be related.
The PC specs are:
Asus motherboard (I don't remember which model but it's a pretty decent board)
AMD Phenomx4 9950
Corsair 4GB DDR2 800MHz
PowerColor HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 (PCI-E)
Seagate ST3100340AS 1TB Hard Drive SATAII
